What not to do when visiting Falkland Islands
Don't necessarily make casual discussions of the Falkland/Malvinas war - it can seem sensitive.
Don’t forget politeness is very important - saying "good morning”, "good afternoon" and ”good evening" are always crucial upon meeting anyone before saying anything else.
Don't enter or tamper with any of the areas marked as unexploded landmines minefields remain in the Falkland Islands following the conflict in 1982 with Argentina.
Did you know?
The local natives are called as Islanders, but those who belong from outside are known as Kelpers.
Don't take pictures of locals without permission.
Don’t be surprised with dramatic weather changes during the single day - weather can change very rapidly. It's possible to experience dramatic temperature and precipitation differences in a single day.
Don't be surprised with unpunctuality - up to 30 mins late is nothing unusual.
